Idea of a Constituent Assembly: The concept of a Constituent Assembly was first proposed by M.N. Roy. This idea laid the groundwork for the formation of a body that would draft the Constitution.
Formation of the Constituent Assembly:
The Constituent Assembly was formed in 1946, marking the beginning of the formal process to draft the Constitution.
First Meeting of the Constituent Assembly:
The first meeting of the Constituent Assembly was held on December 9, 1946. This historic gathering set the stage for the drafting process.
Provisional President:Sachchidananda Sinha served as the provisional president during the initial phases of the Constituent Assembly.
Appointment of the Drafting Committee:
On August 29, 1947, the Drafting Committee was appointed, chaired by the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. This committee played a crucial role in shaping the Constitution.
Passing of the Constitution:
